The Swampers MJ Rig was developed by Mike Johnson in the early 90’s while fishing the Lake Guntersville Bassmaster’s club tournaments. It was not long until Mike’s technique leaked throughout North Alabama as a new and dominating technique. The technique stormed onto the bass fishing scene when Timmy Horton introduced it to the world in an episode of Timmy Horton Outdoors on Lake Seminole in the Spring of 2013. The MJ Rig is used on Senko and stickbait type lures to create a subtle flash to an otherwise simple technique.
